Steam →What is this game?
"Garden of Witches is a cute roguelike action game full of danger. Help the protagonist, Sil, as she tries to round up her unruly fellow witches and save the Garden."
Team Tapas' action roguelike left Early Access today (August 28, 2026). Five witches with genuinely different kits, a five-district garden that rebuilds itself by moon phase, and a day-one patch that nerfed the EA lash meta within hours of launch. Very Positive, 1.4k reviews accumulated across EA — and not a single 1.0 guide anywhere yet.
"EA veterans tell you the lash is dead; day-one players tell you it's strong. Both are right — they were never playing the same game."
— Steam review, launch day

The lash nerf (−18% attack speed) has split the returning EA players: "the whip is dead" vs "the whip was doing the playing for you." Day-1 poll: 41% still top-tier, 37% fair, 22% declared dead.
Hidden witch Mirror Sil found 9h12m after launch by Steam user mothkeeper — full moon, reflecting pool, zero relics. The pool was in the EA build all along. Nobody stood still in it.
First any% speedrun: 41:22 (Poppy, wildfire). The thread argues sub-40 needs a throne-break route.

Why does this game need a guide?
- 1
EA knowledge expired today: 1.0 changed lash speed, the dew economy, co-op scaling — and added a hidden witch. Old guides are now misinformation.
- 2
Kits are deep and builds fork hard: four archetypes with real trap choices, and the tier list is being fought over in real time.
- 3
Secrets are lunar: moon phases rebuild districts, and the best unlocks require standing still in the right pool at the right sky.
- 4
Bilingual coverage is a blank — this is the first systematic manual in any language, written on launch day.
